Whipped Honey: The Answer of What to do with Crystalized Honey
Today, I am sharing a Whipped Honey recipe that is so easy, you can literally fix it and forget it, until that timer goes off of course. 😉
Don't Forget to Pin for Later!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Coincidentally enough, I have an easy recipe share today. So if you need a little help with what to put on the rolls, I have an answer.
Have you ever wondered what to do with that jar of crystallized honey sitting in your pantry?
He is the reason our kitchen is as well equipped as it is. I never gave much thought to kitchen gadgets or making life easier in my single gal days.
But this guy? Firstly, he loves infomercials. Doesn't matter what it is, my guy can watch them for hours, and explain all the reasons I need the latest and greatest.
I am just not that kind of gal. I can work with the essentials, and keep floating down my happy path. Hubby really is a one of a kind guy though, he thinks of everything, and he likes to make life easier for me. God bless him.
So with that said, I can tell you in my single gal days, I made dinner every night, but I cannot say I ever enjoyed cooking in the past.
He's the one who has made cooking and baking easier; less of a pain in the derriere so that I stay a bit longer in the kitchen these days. Do you suppose this was his plan all along? Hmmm... I just may have to investigate these thoughts.
Anyway, long story short, he mentions to me they are making whipped honey using the KitchenAid mixer in his infomercial.
Call me intrigued... whipped honey? Never heard of it, so you know I had to give it a try.
We paid close attention to what she was measuring out (they didn't give the details, darn it), and that is how this recipe share came to be. Call it luck, but I am excited to say this recipe will be served at our Thanksgiving dinner today.
Everyone loves rolls, I won't be partaking since they will not be gluten free, but I like to try new recipes during the holidays.
It is the one time of year you can get other's opinions on your creations, or what my mom always called my concoctions.
For those of you new here, I began cooking and making up my own recipes when I was 15. My mother went back to work after being a stay-at-home mom for all of my life, and I took over dinner duty, so it was more out of necessity than enjoyment in my teen years.
I found I became interested in seeing what I could create, and so it began... years of experimentation. I wish I would have written my recipes down in those early years. I just winged it every night, something I still do today, are you horrified? Sometimes my husband is, but I do not typically mention how I just threw dinner together, flying by the seat of my pants until I hear, this is good.
Now that was something I had to learn early on in our marriage. He is the planner, and I am what some might call a free spirit.
My husband needs a game plan, he needs to know how things will happen. And then there is me. The gal who says plan? What plan? Let's just do this thing and see where we end up.
Through blogging, I learned when I am sharing recipes with you, and have a husband who likes certain creations, I had to begin writing them down. So a little organization came into play with my meal making.
Let's get into this Whipped Honey Recipe, shall we?
Whipped Honey
Ingredients:
- 1 cup crystalized honey
- 1 T vanilla extract
- 1 t cinnamon, I added another 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, but it is all about preference here
Instructions:
- Measure out ingredients, dump into mixing bowl
- Set speed to high
- Set timer for 20 minutes, walk away until you hear that dinging the 20 minutes is up
How easy is that?
I know, I was impressed myself. I especially loved the walking away part, and not monitoring while the KitchenAid whipped the day away.
Now we can drizzle that yummy goodness all over our dinner rolls this holiday season.
I like to think it will be a big hit during Thanksgiving dinner this year. Of course, I will have to see if the recipe receives Rosezella's stamp of approval. Grandma likes her sweets so I am betting she will find it delightful.
I wish you could have been there when I shared my Gluten Free Black Bean Brownie Recipe. Grandma tells me that they are really good, and then I drop the bomb they are made from black beans.
She scrunched up her nose, and asked black beans? Yep, Grandma, black beans. She then tells me who would have thought black beans could taste so good as she chuckled. Needless to say, the holidays are never dull with my recipe experimentation and sharing.
This whipped honey recipe also struck a cord since so many throw away honey after it crystalizes. Not me of course, in the past, I would place it into the microwave for a few seconds and still use it in my recipes.
I have family members who think it is not any good and throw it away. Now they know this is the answer to crystalized honey.
Let us know if you decide to give this recipe a try.
If honey is your thing, we have plenty of recipes with honey, like our Hot Pepper Bread.
Our Oat Bread Recipe is pretty delectable too.
Even our Gluten Free Cornbread recipe was a hit.
We hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving sharing good food, conversation, and cheer.
Ciao,

Another fabulous recipe to explore, Cara! One of my nephews LOVES breads, rolls and all sorts of sweet treats like muffins so I'm excited to make this for him. He'll be tickled pink! On a side note, I'm hearing, "But wait, there's more!" right now. Infommercials are the best! Hugs, CoCo
ReplyDeleteHa! My husband loves them, and were it not for him, we probably wouldn't have half the gadgets we have. Although, I have to hand it to him, he does make my life in the kitchen easier. I hope your nephew loves this whipped honey recipe CoCo, it was a big hit at Thanksgiving dinner!
