Celebrate America with a taste of family

Happy 4th of July to all my American friends! What better way to celebrate than with a delicious recipe that's perfect for summer gatherings? Today, I'm sharing a classic American favorite with a twist: homemade ranch dressing from my husband!

Love it or Hate it?

We all know the feeling – you either love ranch dressing or you don't. I myself have had a complicated relationship with it over the years. Some store-bought brands just don't hit the spot. But here's the beauty of making it yourself: you can control the flavor!

Plus, this recipe is a win for our gluten-free friends. Ranch dressing can be surprisingly sneaky when it comes to hidden wheat ingredients. Always double-check labels if you have food allergies!

Grandma's Secret Weapon: Memories in a Bowl

My Grandma always made her ranch dressing from scratch, and its flavor still brings back happy memories, along with the glass jar with pink lid she stored it in. Salads served with meals at her house were extra special because of her homemade touch. This recipe allows you to create those same special moments with your loved ones.

Now it's your turn to create those special memories! Here's my husband's delicious ranch dressing recipe:

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Simply measure and mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
  2. Chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.

Tips:

  • This dressing will stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or until the expiration date on the buttermilk.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to your liking. My husband prefers it a little milder, but I enjoy a bit of a kick! If you do too, use 1/4 t cayenne pepper, it is all so yummy.
  • Homemade ranch dressing is a great way to encourage veggie consumption (looking at you, honey!).
  • We love this dressing on everything from salads to tacos, chips, and even veggie sticks!
