Whimsy Home Wednesday No. 45

Welcome to the Whimsy Home Wednesday Link Party. Today we are sharing the chosen posts from Whimsy Home Wednesday No. 44.

Hi!  How are you today?

I am saddened to share that this marks the conclusion of my journey with Whimsy Home Wednesday.  A hiatus from blogging is on my horizon, though please understand, this isn't a farewell, but rather a much-needed intermission.  Recognizing my tendency to overlook the importance of downtime, I acknowledge this as a personal weakness I must address.

Some of you are aware that I encountered an unfavorable response to a vaccine which led to a considerable compromise in my immune system.  Alongside this, a series of additional challenges arose.  Regrettably, I refused to permit these setbacks to impede my progress back then, although, in hindsight, a pause may have been the wiser choice.  I'm the type who rarely sits idle for more than a few fleeting moments.  My mind is tirelessly engrossed in thoughts about decor, ventures, and the future endeavors to tackle.

Upon stepping away from professional obligations last year, a window of opportunity materialized, allowing me to redirect more of my attention here.  This venture introduced me to a host of incredible individuals.  Furthermore, I was even granted the privilege of conversing with some of the bloggers I admired prior to embarking on my own online journey (a list that's grown long over the years).

Recent times have proven to be rather demanding, leaving me feeling drained.  Consequently, a respite is in order.  Regrettable, fulfilling hosting responsibilities doesn't align with the concept of taking a breather.  And if I cannot offer my full dedication, I believe it's only fair to sit out.

While I am absent, I will be working on a few big projects that I will be sharing once they are completed.  I am looking forward to being able to devote more time to them so I can share them with you.

Rest assured, I'll be on the sidelines, an avid reader, engaging with content and sharing my thoughts through comments until I see you again.

  1. Taking care of yourself is much more important than a link party. I've had a few health challenges over the past year as well and I needed to slow-down and find what worked for me. I look forward to seeing the projects you'll be working on, Cara. Enjoy the time you spend on them - I'll be back to check them out!

    1. Are you recovering from your surgery, Ann? I had remembered reading about it. Sometimes I bite off more than I can chew. I decided that I needed to take a break from everything and hope I get to feeling more like myself. I hope your health improves, it's our most important commodity in life.

    2. Thanks for remembering, Cara. I am recovering, but slowly. Due to the amount of damage to the meniscus, it may never be 100% but it's definitely better. I tend to be my own worst enemy sometimes and also forget I'm not 25 anymore! Ha-Ha! Enjoy your time off and feel free to reach out anytime you feel like chatting.

  2. Hi Cara! I can relate with the situation you are in. I have an autoimmune disorder and anxiety, and have had to step away from things I enjoy doing because they cause my body too much stress! It's hard to do, but your health is the most important thing! I applaud you for taking the steps you know are best for you! You'll be in my prayers! Take care, Donna

    1. Thank you Donna, autoimmune disorders are tough. I feel they do not have enough information on most of them, and they affect people very differently. I hope you are doing better now, and I am hoping your stress levels have reduced, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. If I get too run down, I will end up very sick for sometimes months at a time. You will still be seeing me over on your blog. :)

  3. Cara,

I am sorry to hear that you are going through a tough time. You will be missed, but please remember that self-care is important. Take this time to rest and take care of yourself. We are all here for you.

I wanted to thank you for hosting a wonderful party at Whimsy Home Wednesday. It was always a pleasure to share my crafts with you and the community. I am excited to see what projects you are working on and look forward to featuring you this Friday on my link party.

    Take care and be well.

    1. Thank you Stephanie, I have been so inspired by your craftiness! I will still be around and checking out blogs, I do not stay down very well. I just knew it was time for a break ~ I like to visit with everyone every week and comment.

  4. Cara, I so understand what you are dealing with and it is so true, doctors just do not know or understand the impact of autoimmune disease. I have a slew of them, most recently diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis and Psoriatic Arthritis. Some days I can't get anything accomplished and it's so frustrating not to be able to do the things I used to do. If you need someone to talk to I'm around and understand. big hugs, take care of yourself!

    1. I remember reading this on your blog Debra. I am so sorry to hear you received another diagnosis.
There are so many autoimmune disorders out there these days, I wish they could offer more information to patients. It took 13 months for them to figure out what happened, none of the specialists I was sent to would agree. Finally one spoke up and said it was the vaccine, in the meantime, I kept getting worse. So frustrating! I understand your frustration and feeling like you are not able to get everything completed on your list. I will be over to visit you soon. :)

    1. The more I talk about illness, the more I find others also suffer from immune system issues. Mine plummeted, and I have not gotten any real answers when I will be back up to snuff. I receive injections to help with it for now. I cannot wait for fall, and I hope it hurries up and gets here so you can get outdoors. The heat is really bothersome for some of us, isn't it. Humidity bothers my breathing.
