Welcome to the Whimsy Home Wednesday Link Party. Today we are sharing the chosen posts from Whimsy Home Wednesday No. 38.
Y'all, I think Rudolph recently sent one of his buddies to check in on the pup! Just the other day, I opened the front door for Bentley to take a peek while we were waiting on my sister to come for a visit.
Trust me, it doesn't happen often since he will jump on the glass, bark like a rabid dog, and scratch, scratch, scratch our glass! It's embarrassing so I keep the house all shut up, but I thought it will be for five minutes, what can it hurt... the neighborhood is still quiet this early in the morning.
When I opened the door, he laid there taking in the neighborhood so I went about my business, the next thing I know, he is barking. This was not his normal bark, it was more like his danger stranger bark and so I looked out the door. My sister wasn't here, and I did not see anything I should be alarmed about. Well, lo and behold... I see one of Santa and Rudolph's buddies walking across the street. The more he barked, the closer he came!
I told him if he wanted Santa to visit then he needed to behave. He immediately stopped barking, sat down, and peered up at me, as if asking, are you serious mom? He reports to Santa? They both looked at each other, and finally he went on, jumping our wrought iron fence and on to the next house he was checking on!
I wonder if our friend will be back for a another visit soon to keep Santa abreast of Bentley's shenanigans? 🎅
Congratulations to the featured posts of Whimsy Home Wednesday! I enjoy being able to visit each post to see what other's are up to around the web, don't you?
This week I chose to feature Wendy with WM Design House, and her adorable Garden Art Easel. You must read the tale of how this garden art easel came to be, you know I simply cannot resist a great trash to treasure project! How adorable would this be at a summer wedding? I can see it in a sunroom filled with flowers and maybe a few surprises. Doesn't this piece inspire you to create from discarded items? I know I have thoroughly enjoyed creating my trash to treasure pieces, but now I am thinking on a larger scale. How about you?

Your "deer friend" is adorable. We have several young ones visiting most evenings. so fun to watch. Thanks for having us over, Cara. Hope you're having a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteHa! Our Deer Friend, love that Debra ~ for the longest time I had no idea we had deer in our yard until one morning I was leaving for work, and there were 7 in our yard! They were eating my hostas, but I nearly fell over there were so many. I had to stop the car and snap a pic. We can go a while and not see any, and then all of the sudden, there are several. We have even had them walking down the alley and entering from the back of our property.
DeleteI hope everyone in your home has been nice and not naughty since Santa is obviously checking up on you!! Too cute! Thanks for hosting and have the best week ever!
ReplyDeleteI do what I can to keep this pup in line, he is quite ornery. We flunked out of obedience training, and Lord knows we have tried, but he has a mind of his own!
DeleteThank you so much for hosting, and may you have a blessed Hump Day

DeleteThanks for the party Cara. Deers are so beautiful and move so gracefully. How great to find one outside your door! Thanks for sharing. XO- MaryJo
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting MaryJo, I enjoy watching them and the birds. I hope to one day be able to name a few by name. I have a bird book so I can begin.
DeleteWhat a fun morning adventure, Cara! My parents have 3 deer (a doe and 2 fawns) that nibble on their flowers and shrubbery pretty regularly. While my Mom would rather them not eat all her new plants, they really are such beautiful and graceful animals. Thanks so much for hosting and for helping Bentley stay on the nice list :) Hugs, CoCo
ReplyDeleteFor the longest time I could not figure out what was eating up my hostas, and then I finally figured it out. I had no idea they would wander from the park and come over two streets to us! The day I found 7 of them in my yard, I had to stop the car and snap a pic and pinch myself. While I am not a fan of them eating my plants either, I welcome them since I am a horrible gardener. ha! Thank you for visiting CoCo!
DeleteThat Blueberry Cake looks awesome and thanks for hosting this weekly party..
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Nora! It as one of those cakes where you know you need to stop, but you really do not want to since it was so good! LOL. I couldn't believe how much others liked it too, those blueberries made it!
DeleteOMG! isn't she adorable!!! what a special visitor you had. As long as she doesn't eat the plants. hahaha. Thank you so much for the special feature. This was one of my favorite projects I have done. I love to sit it out in the garden. Maybe I will take up painting again one day. Have a wonderful week. I hope it is cool where you are. It is so hot here and I am off to Atlanta tomorrow for more heat.
ReplyDeleteLOL, she and the rest of her clan eat up my hostas in our front yard. It is never really photo worthy because of their handy work. You are so welcome, I loved it, and I would love to see your paintings! I wish I had that talent, it skipped over me. My grandfather, mother, and sister can all paint, and I am lucky to string together a stick person darn it. Hope you have a great week too!
