When I decided to start a blog, I never thought anyone would be interested in my projects. I only know what I like, but I am finding others seem to like what I put together. Thank you for that! You have no idea how much that means to me!
I started this little blog because I love to decorate and covid had me down. But being here with you all and knowing I can share a bit of our home with you and you actually enjoy following along, now that just made my day! Thank you again!
And on to our small winter arrangement. I hate when the Christmas decorations have to come down. It makes me sad, but I take the first week in January off every year from my day job to put it all away and change up our home a bit.
I wanted to share how I made these step by step since I had someone question them. I purchased these long stem glass hurricanes from Meijer a few years ago on clearance, I think they were $2.99 a piece.
I cleaned them up with Mrs. Meyers cleaner, it never streaks and I love the lavender scent.
I used my trusty pine from Target that I purchased for $5.00 for a bunch. Then an ornament I purchased from Hobby Lobby last year.
I put the branches on top of each other and then fanned out the pine.
I put the pine down inside the hurricane and kept working with it until I liked the way it looked.
Then I added the ornament to the bed of pine at an angle. Not a bad project for zero cost to me. I added up the cost of this project and if I needed to purchase all of these items then it would cost under $15.00. Hobby Lobby always has the large ornaments after Christmas. I have purchased the same ornaments after Christmas for about $2.00 for 2 ornaments. For some reason the large ornaments are always left right before the shelves are to be cleared. You can always find glass at your local thrift store. And the pine, I lucked out finding it again this year from Target. You can get an entire package for $5.00. I will be adding to my pine loot next year again.
Here they are in place on my buffet in the dining room. Hope you enjoyed this simple project and if I inspired just one person, my work here is done. Hope you are enjoying the start of 2021!
