It would appear I love Tudor Homes, which is true... this one is no exception. Some aspects I fell in love with and others I would want to improve. This home is located in Hyde Park in Cincinnati, Ohio.
I love the lead glass windows on either side of the front door. Two car attached garage is a nice feature for an older home.
The dining room is spacious. I would like to see a dining room table more to scale for the room and maybe a large area rug under the seating area. I like damask wallpaper so I am right at home with that and the wood floors look like they are in perfect shape. Loving the chandelier, but the sconces are looking a little out of place, but of course we cannot see the entire room here.
I am so in love with the butler pantry! I have always wanted one of these, unfortunately, we do not have one in our home, but I swoon at original details in a home like this! I love the door latches, perhaps reproduction, but I love latches such as this. Imagine showcasing all of your glassware in the upper cabinets with the bead board background and lighting above... I would have my hobnail pieces in the upper cabinet.
After seeing that butler's pantry, I had high hopes for the kitchen, but it let me down a bit. It's nice, do not get me wrong, but not what I was hoping for... I was hoping for something more in line with the age of the home.
I so love a built in... this does not disappoint! Imagine all of the possibilities for storage here... bed sheets, towels, your seasonal décor for the second floor? It's endless! And this home is not lacking in radiator covers, I so love that extra added detail in older homes too.
Can I tell you how in love with this bathroom I am? Original bath... even look at the mirror above the sink, art deco style. I have seen some interesting color schemes put together in older homes, and this is my favorite for vintage baths. That floor? Be still my heart! The basket weave pattern is so classic, I do not think it ever goes out of style! In my opinion, this is a timeless bath.
Third floor... beautiful! I would imagine it may be difficult to place furniture in this room depending on what you are trying to make this room, but I love it! The colors are neutral to go with most any decor. I can see this as a bedroom for a teen... bed on the other side of the room, club chairs and a television on this side to have room for friends when they visit.
I wanted to show the steps and stone wall here... I could imagine sitting on that bench reading a good book while having some alone time... what's that you ask? I am still searching for it myself. 😉
Even though you are part of a neighborhood, you get the feeling of having your privacy without feeling secluded. Neighbors are close, but not too close... sounds nice to me.
If you would like to see more of this home, you can visit Zillow. It is located at 2736 Lower Grandin Road, Cincinnati, Ohio. The home is located on .33 acres, has four bedrooms and six baths, was built in 1930, and is listed for $855,000. Again, out of my price range, but I thoroughly enjoy exploring other homes with good bones, and seeing how others decorate their homes.
